American Prairie Reserve is home to thousands of species of plants and animals.  The vast array of wildlife that once called the prairie home stunned explorers like Lewis and Clark and played an integral role in the cultural traditions of the Native Americans who preceded them.  Today, American Prairie Reserve provides modern visitors with the chance to see wildlife found in few other places on Earth.  Pronghorn antelope undertake record-setting migrations across hundreds of miles.  Burrowing owls inhabit prairie dog towns, offering a curious sight to passersby.  Elk bugle and challenge one another during their annual rut season.  The diversity of life on American Prairie Reserve is as expansive as the landscape itself, and there is always something new to discover or learn about the prairie and its wild inhabitants.
