New Video – Predator Dinner Party on the Prairie

In our latest post on National Geographic’s News Watch page, we highlight the poorly understood relationship between unlikely hunting buddies, the badger and the coyote. In March, a graduate student in science and natural history filmmaking had the good fortune to witness and badger and coyote hunting on one of the Reserve’s prairie dog towns. Anecdotal evidence of the two species hunting together has been substantiated with a few scientific studies over the past few decades, but it seems that Native Americans have known about the dinner parties for centuries.
