Dreaming Big Under Dark Skies

Tents and pull-behind trailers have started to pop up at Buffalo Camp, providing temporary homes to intrepid visitors hailing from Montana and Wisconsin. As the grass greens up and we wait impatiently for the first bison calves of the year, the arrival of birders, bikers, hikers, geocachers and campers is another sure sign of spring on American Prairie Reserve. For those that are able to keep their eyes open after full days of exploring the outdoors, the dark and starry skies offer another chance to dream big – yet feel small – surrounded by the expansive beauty of the northern plains.
