When the Reserve opened our first public campground in 2011, we were excited to offer a place where anyone could enjoy the prairie year-round. Thanks to your support, we have added a few upgrades to Buffalo Camp to make visits easier and more enjoyable!
In the tent camping area, two new tent sites have been added to the existing four sites – complete with low-impact tent platforms, picnic tables and fire rings. Electricity has also come to the campground with power now available at the seven RV spots as well as at the two new group pavilions where you can cook alongside friends and family. Lastly, while the water continues to be non-potable, the water line is now connected to an existing well that allows us to provide water all year long.
Combined with vault toilets, a group amphitheater, and nearby interpretive trail, the upgrades at Buffalo Camp make this a must-see and must-stay destination during your trip to the region. Rates remain at $10/night except for those using electricity, which has a $15/night fee. The campground is first-come, first-served.
Your donations continue to make public access a reality!
